    Altfor mykje av alt som er godt. Bør truleg reknast som eit rus- og evt legemiddel meir enn eit næringsmiddel.

    Kjøpte en six-pack på Rørosmartnan og dette er en av favorittene. Mer aromatisk enn sterk, og hvor hvitløken gir sødme og chilien både florale og jordlige karakterer. God på pizza, egg og i Ramen.

    I’m not from Norway, so if I’m being honest, I went into Borgund’s Sjurek Chilisauce with pretty low expectations on the spice level. My experience so far has been that “spicy” here doesn’t always mean… actually spicy.

    But this one? This one surprised me.

    First try was on eggs and fried potatoes. First bite, I’m thinking, “Wow, this has a rich garlic flavor and a great texture.” Super balanced, really enjoyable. And then… BAM. The habanero kicks in just a second later and completely hijacks your attention. I genuinely forgot whatever I was thinking about before. Suddenly it’s just me and the sauce.

    I’d call it medium to hot, but in the best way. It’s what I’d describe as “addictive spicy.” Just enough heat to keep you in check, but not so much that you regret your life choices or start sweating through your shirt. It punishes you a little… but kindly.

    The garlic is front and center, which I love, and it makes me want to put it on everything. Tacos, pasta, pizza, eggs, creamy sauces… (cereal was considered, but I showed restraint).

    At one point I actually thought, “Is this what a spiritual experience is supposed to feel like?” Not to be dramatic, but meals are just more exciting now. I’m already realizing I might need a separate budget for hot sauce, because I can easily go through a bottle of this in under a week. My wife has already told me to pace myself.

    All in all, this is the perfect balance of flavor first, heat second. I didn’t expect to find that combo here, but I’m very glad to be wrong.
